Who is an Old Lawrentian?

Who is an Old Lawrentian?

All pupils who have passed through the Junior (N.B. yet to be ratified by the OL Society Committee) or Senior Schools at St Lawrence College, Ramsgate or South Eastern College are considered to be Old Lawrentians. In addition, however, the OL Society has welcomed in all ex-members of staff. The Society has also awarded Honorary membership to a number of distinguished persons who would not otherwise qualify for membership.

Who is included in the list on this website?

Thanks to some painstaking research by Mike Brewer, the current master in charge of IT at the College, most OLs since the founding of South Eastern College in 1879 have been listed - some eleven thousand souls in all! If you know anyone who is missing, then please let us know. Please also let us know about any errors you discover.

Can I find out more about other OLs?

The information that will be provided in this website (when it is complete) about any individual will vary. The data in the public area of the site is already in the public domain and is restricted to: name, initials (usually) and year of leaving the School.

In the members' area the information displayed for any member to see will be restricted to full name, year of leaving, house (if known) and any other information that the individual has determined should be available for viewing by registered OLs. This can be either as a result of setting it up on the WebAlumnus site (the predecessor to this site) or by the members editing their own record. The School authorities will be able to see all the personal data but members will have the choice to select what is displayed about them by editing their own entry. We do hope you will feel able to put on as much information about yourself as possible.

Members who have changed their surname by marriage, deed poll or because of sheer devilment will be probably be listed in the public area of the site under the name they had whilst at school. You will be able to search under either name in the Members' Area when it goes live.

How do I get into the Members' Area?

When the Members' Area goes live we will send an email to all known contacts - you will receive an email if you were previously registered with WebAlumnus.

To sign in, use your registered email address which we used to contact you. Then use the forgotten password link on the first occasion. Your WebAlumnus password will not work. You will be sent a new password by email to that address you have used. When you sign in, you will be able to update your own registered details and change your password to something more memorable.

If I haven't previously registered how do I get in?

Please visit our member registration form and fill in the information requested. (This is to protect the security of your personal data and that of other OLs.) We will verify your details and send you a welcoming email with details of how to sign in.
