Who is an Old Lawrentian?

All pupils who have passed through the Junior (N.B. yet to be ratified by the OL Society Committee) or Senior Schools at St Lawrence College, Ramsgate or South Eastern College are considered to be Old Lawrentians. In addition, however, the OL Society has welcomed in all ex-members of staff. The Society has also awarded Honorary membership to a number of distinguished persons who would not otherwise qualify for membership.

Who is included in the list on this website?

Thanks to some painstaking research by Mike Brewer, the current master in charge of IT at the College, most OLs since the founding of South Eastern College in 1879 have been listed - some eleven thousand souls in all! If you know anyone who is missing, then please let us know. Please also let us know about any errors you discover.

Can I find out more about other OLs?

The information that will be provided in this website (when it is complete) about any individual will vary. The data in the public area of the site is already in the public domain and is restricted to: name, initials (usually) and year of leaving the School.

In the members' area the information displayed for any member to see will be restricted to full name, year of leaving, house (if known) and any other information that the individual has determined should be available for viewing by registered OLs. This can be either as a result of setting it up on the WebAlumnus site (the predecessor to this site) or by the members editing their own record. The School authorities will be able to see all the personal data but members will have the choice to select what is displayed about them by editing their own entry. We do hope you will feel able to put on as much information about yourself as possible.

Members who have changed their surname by marriage, deed poll or because of sheer devilment will be probably be listed in the public area of the site under the name they had whilst at school. You will be able to search under either name in the Members' Area when it goes live.

How do I get into the Members' Area?

When the Members' Area goes live we will send an email to all known contacts - you will receive an email if you were previously registered with WebAlumnus.

To sign in, use your registered email address which we used to contact you. Then use the forgotten password link on the first occasion. Your WebAlumnus password will not work. You will be sent a new password by email to that address you have used. When you sign in, you will be able to update your own registered details and change your password to something more memorable.

If I haven't previously registered how do I get in?

Please visit our member registration form and fill in the information requested. (This is to protect the security of your personal data and that of other OLs.) We will verify your details and send you a welcoming email with details of how to sign in.

St Lawrence College event charity gala ball dinner saturday 26 May 2018

Chris Throndsen

6/3/1935 - 2/4/2018 It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of Old Lawrentian, Christopher Throndsen(Thronnie, aged 83. Pupil, Master, Head of House (Tower and Newlands), Past President and VP of the OL Society, member of the OL Golf Society and friend to many. A true Gentleman. There will be a private family funeral service held, then in May, a memorial service will be held at the College where everyone who knew Chris will be most welcome. We will notify everyone as soon as arrangements are confirmed. Our thoughts are with Francoise, Olaf and Isobel and their families at this sad time.

Old Lawrentian OL Day 17th March 2018

Lunch, tours, sports, drinks and a chance to catch up with fellow OLs and staff. The afternoon's Hockey Festival Cup is being played this year in honour of OL, Alex Underhill '10, who sadly passed away in 2017. A 2010 OL team will play against a mixed OL/SLC staff team and Canterbury Christchurch University. Netball and ahooting will also be competed. For those wishing to attend, a special service for Alex is taking place in the Chapel at 11.15am. Families and guests are most welcome. Please do let us know you are intending to come or if you would like to be part of the career Fair or a sports team so that we can plan and cater sufficiently. Many thanks. Candlelit Carols in the Chapel

It was wonderful to see so many Old Lawrentians, former parents, friends and staff members on Sunday to celebrate Christmas and enjoy rousing renditions of beautiful carols and numerous pieces by the College Choir and organist (OL, Jack Greenslade.
