Lodge House

LODGE (Since 1929)

Lodge resides within the top two floors of the main building, Former pupils will be pleased to hear the House is flourishing. There are 16 different nationalities providing a wonderful blend of culture, humour, sporting and academic ability to the House. In recent years extra bedrooms have been created from what were previously Dr Scales’ private rooms, whilst his study on the Well staircase has become the House ICT room. The introduction of Sky television, a table tennis table as well as table football have helped bring the boys together but most popular has been the pool table in the JCR. Success in House competitions has been mixed but there is never any trouble raising sides, which is pleasing. The House has been run by Nick Jones (OL’ 74) and his wife, Morgan since January 2010. Other staff include Tom Moulton, Robin Bendall, Darren Brooks, Richard Coughtrie (Resident Tutor), Matt Deveson, Seth Simmons and Charlie Sharp (OL). Sharon continues to be the Matron. The House looks forward to old boys coming back to visit & reminisce.

Old Lawrentian Society Day March 201

Lunch, tours, sports, drinks and a chance to catch up with fellow OLs and staff...This year we also have the Careers Fair being held in the morning and we would very much appreciate some more volunteers to chat about their career and studies. The afternoon's Hockey Festival Cup is being played this year in honour of OL, Alex Underhill '10, who sadly passed away in 2017. A 2010 OL team will play against a mixed OL/SLC staff team and Canterbury Christchurch University. Netball and ahooting will also be competed. For those wishing to attend, a special service for Alex is taking place in the Chapel at 11.15am. Families and guests are most welcome. Please do let us know you are intending to come or if you would like to be part of the career Fair or a sports team so that we can plan and cater sufficiently. Many thanks.
