We have pleasure in inviting you to join parents, pupils and staff at the above event on Saturday 24 February. This exclusive evening is being held as part of our Learning Partnership with Turner Contemporary.  This is the School’s third such event at the gallery and this time the focus is on Senior Art, English and Music.  You will also be able to enjoy a private viewing of the latest exhibition Journeys with ‘The Waste Land’.

This major exhibition explores the significance of T S Eliot’s poem ‘The Waste Land’ through the visual arts. Presenting over 60 artists, and almost 100 objects, the exhibition is the culmination of a three year project designed to develop a pioneering approach to curating. Local residents, coming together as the Waste Land Research Group, have developed the entire exhibition. Last term, some members of this Research Group also visited our Senior School Friday afternoon Creative Writing Activity in which pupils have been exploring themes around the poem.

Children aged 9 and above are welcome to accompany you, but should please stay with you when walking around the gallery.

Numbers to this event are strictly limited and therefore will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you would like to join us, please reply to development@slcuk.com stating your name and the number of tickets required (max. 4 per family).
